Brief position description: The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Research Assistant to join the School of Life and Environmental Sciences / Ecology, Evolution & Conservation to provide research support and expertise for the ARC-funded project “Predictability in evolution: from behaviour to genome”. Under the supervision of the Chief Investigator, the responsibilities of the Research Assistant will include de novo assembly and annotation of insect genomes, performing analyses of comparative genomic data, some molecular biological laboratory work, providing technical and computational assistance to academics and research students collaborating on the project. There will be opportunities for preparing research for publication and for communicating the results of the work at conferences and other scientific outlets.
