Position title: Senior Research Bioinformatician

Brief position description: The Sydney Informatics Hub have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Research Bioinformatician to join their team. As the Senior Research Bioinformatician, you will provide expert leadership, advice and training to researchers and other users of the facility, in particular in the field of bioinformatics. This position will see you take on a range of duties including, but not limited to;

- providing bioinformatics technical and scientific expertise. Taking leadership, managing and delivering advanced user support in bioinformatics for internal and external researchers
- contributing to the coordination and unification of the University’s bioscience research communities and infrastructure by the Sydney Informatics Hub to facilitate ‘omics research throughout the University of Sydney and partner organisations
- designing experiments for bioinformatics research projects utilising University, national and commercial compute facilities, such as Artemis HPC, NCI Gadi HPC and Amazon Cloud to meet the needs of the project, researchers and/or other technical staff in the facility.

This is a full time, 3 year fixed term contract (until 2024) offering a base salary of $95K p.a., plus leave loading and a generous employer’s contribution to superannuation.
