Brief position description: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher to work for Olga Kondrashova. The position will be embedded within the Medical Genomics Group at QIMR Berghofer. The exciting position involves analysing genomic and transcriptomic sequencing data in a range of cancers, including lung and endometrial cancer. The research is centred around linking tumour molecular profiles with patient treatment responses; improving understanding of drug resistance and identification of novel treatment strategies through analysis of pre-clinical models. This research is part of the NHMRC Synergy grant. The role involves utilising and developing bioinformatic approaches to analyse a variety of genomic and transcriptomic data by working independently and with collaborators.

This position will work alongside other bioinformaticians in the Medical Genomics Group, and will be expected to supervise graduate research students.

The following duties will apply:

Bioinformatic analysis of next-generation sequencing data
Research and implement appropriate analysis methodology
Lead and manage research projects
Communicate findings through papers and conference presentations
Student supervision
Ensure work practices comply with the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act, related legislative requirements and the Institute's WH&S policies and procedures.
