Employer: University of Copenhagen

Closing date: 2/04/2023

Brief position description: We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic scientist for a 2-year postdoctoral position to commence on 1 June 2023 or after agreement.

The position will be based in the Joshi Group at the Copenhagen Center for Glycomics (CCG) at the Department for Cellular and Molecular Medicine (ICMM) within the University of Copenhagen.

Information on the group can be found at: The Joshi Group web page (https://icmm.ku.dk/english/research-groups/joshi-group/) and https://smex-ctp.trendmicro.com:443/wis/clicktime/v1/query?url=https%3a%2f%2fglyco.me&umid=bfae75bb-278d-4071-9397-9c9e759538c0&auth=2af5473c4b03509246eb08bd803a6cf835f69953-20b8a5ea06b7a3745ff5c145c743f728cc4565d8

Our research:

The Joshi/In-silico glycomics Group uses data science to uncover the contributions from regulation of hundreds of glycosylation related genes to the overall glycosylation process that takes place in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi. We take advantage of both a massive amount of publicly available data, and unique genetically engineered cell lines and world leading wet-lab facilities for validation. We value our creative, open, and collaborative work environment, placing special emphasis on training and mentorship to help our colleagues reach their career goals.

Your job:

Your tasks will include designing experimental strategies, identification and analysis of complex datasets using data science techniques, generation of validation data, and presentation of your research (including writing scientific manuscripts). Additional tasks could include contributing to grant applications, research-based supervision of MSc and PhD students, teaching undergraduate courses, and outreach communication activities. The successful candidate will play an integral role in establishing the lab and research environment.
