Bioinformatics Research Officer or Research Assistant, Melbourne

Brief position description: An opportunity exists for a Computational Scientist to work on the analysis of single-cell RNA-sequencing data. The appointee will use and develop advanced bioinformatics tools to analyse these data using high performance computing infrastructure. This role will be embedded in the recently established Single-cell Genomics Facility.

The successful candidate will ideally hold a PhD/Masters-level qualification and have experience in bioinformatics analysis with strong programming and data analysis skills. Good knowledge of R and Unix would be highly desirable.

The position is available for 3 years in the first instance. A salary range up to and including Academic Level B ($86,472 - $92,817) is available depending on qualifications and experience. Up to 17% superannuation and attractive salary packaging options are available. Flexible working arrangements are on offer.
