Brief position description: The Rare Disease Oncogenomics Laboratory (Tothill Laboratory) with the University of Melbourne Centre for Cancer Research (UMCCR) is seeking an early career bioinformatician to contribute to a large cancer genome sequencing study (A5 SDHB Genomics Study) involving analysis and integration of whole genome DNA sequencing with other genomic datasets. You are required to possess in-depth knowledge of the principles and practice of bioinformatics as it relates to genome and transcriptome interrogation, be fluent in Unix/Linux and proficient in one or more scripting languages (eg. Perl, Python, etc). The successful applicant will become integrated into a collaborative working environment of wet lab scientists and bioinformaticians within the UMCCR working on translational and clinical cancer genomics across a number of disease types.
