Brief position description: The Bui Lab within the Research School of Computer Science (Australian National University) has received funding from the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative for a twelve (12) month Software Developer position to develop the IQ-TREE Software (http://www.iqtree.org) which is efficient software for phylogenomic inference.
Applicants should hold a Bachelor or Masters degree in computer science or a related area; demonstrated skills in C++ programming and high performance computing; demonstrated ability to write efficient code and rigorous tests; the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team; and an enthusiasm for open-source software and community building.
The position is available from April 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.
We are willing to offer flexible working arrangements to the successful candidate, including working from interstate. The successful candidate must be willing to travel to the ANU Campus in Canberra on a regular basis.
