Brief position description: A strategic national approach to genomic information management will be critical for Australia to capitalise on the potential of genomics, to both research and clinical practice. Australian Genomics and Australian BioCommons are committed to progress standardised, accessible and ethical use and reuse of human genomic data that advances clinical/scientific knowledge, and aligns with the expectations of data donors and the public.

The Human Genomics Data Community Coordinator will be a key driver of this activity in Australia: engaging with the genomic data community nationally and internationally; facilitating consultation, communication and education; promoting the evaluation and implementation of international data standards; and ensuring the alignment of key stakeholders for adoption and harmonisation of genomic data approaches.
