Brief position description: We are seeking a Statistician or Statistical Geneticist to contribute to the development and deployment of novel methods to perform robust, efficient analysis of large-scale genomic datasets. This will include partnering closely with trainees, computational biologists, bioinformaticians and software developers from across the Centre for Population Genomics to consult on existing methods, contribute to the development of novel solutions, and scale prototypes into cloud computing pipelines suitable for processing data at scale. Examples of initial focus areas include the evaluation and implementation of local ancestry methods and/or other approaches to more accurately represent data from highly diverse and admixed populations, and the development of statistically robust methods to jointly analyse rare and complex variation from whole genome sequences in conjunction with single-cell RNA sequencing data from thousands of individuals.
