Position title: Research Fellow (Bioinformatician) - Blood Cancer Biomarkers

Brief position description: We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join the Blood Cancer Biomarkers Laboratory as a post-doctoral Research Fellow (Bioinformatician). The successful candidate will lead projects in the field of circulating tumour DNA where they will be analysing whole genome and transcriptome sequencing data from patients with haematologic malignancy. Working closely with the Head of the Blood Cancer Biomarkers Laboratory, Dr Paul Yeh, the role will also involve close collaboration with senior bioinformaticians at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The Research Fellow will develop their own research project to expand their own research program and profile, however, will also have an integral role in supporting members of the laboratory.
The appointee will have a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline area or equivalent qualifications or research experience. Experience in bioinformatic analysis of next generation sequencing, specifically analysis of whole genome sequencing, whole transcriptome sequencing and whole exome sequencing, working with clinical samples including blood, tissue and fluid samples and translational research in cancer or haematology will see you successful in this role.
