Brief position description: An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join the Goode and Parish Labs within the Computational Biology and Cancer Immunology Programs respectively. An exciting new collaborative research direction is currently being pioneered between the Goode and Parish Labs to design and apply analytical approaches to data from emerging high-throughput sequencing, single cell sequencing and spatial immune profiling technologies to investigate the role of the immune system in cancer. The advertised position will involve collaboration with both industry, and laboratory scientists conducting cutting-edge research in immune oncology. The successful applicant will be based within the Goode and Parish Labs at Peter Mac. Suitable candidates will possess a PhD and must have research experience and a strong track record in a relevant quantitative field, such as bioinformatics, physics, statistics, computer science or mathematics. They must also have advanced skills in a scripting programming language (such as R or Python), analysis of biological data, and development of novel algorithms or statistical analysis approaches. The successful candidate will be self-driven, possess a love of learning and have a friendly and enthusiastic disposition. Previous research experience in transcriptomics, single-cell data or spatial analysis would be an advantage. The position is initially for a fixed period of 12 months with potential for extension. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
