Position title: Retinal Disorders Statistical Geneticist (Postdoctoral Fellow/Senior Postdoctoral Fellow)

Brief position description: This postdoctoral position is available to work on the analysis of genetic data from AMD patients. The position is located in the statistical genetics laboratory headed by Professor Melanie Bahlo. The successful applicant will spearhead the statistical genetics work, collating cohorts internationally, working collaboratively with a world-class, predominantly Melbourne-based team as well as with international collaborators. Using statistical methods the applicant will determine the genetic causes of AMD, a leading cause of blindness in older individuals. Statistical signals from clinical and genomic, as well as other ‘-omics’ data, will be pursued further using molecular methods including animal models and single cell studies in collaborators’ laboratories in this exciting project to pursue the genetics of an AMD subtype.
